My PARKLIGHT book project idea was born taking this walk from Derrycunnihy down to Lord Brandon’s Cottage at the foot of the McGillycuddys Reeks in the Black Valley. A wonderful walk at any time of the year with a reward of a hot brew at the end of it !

Reenagross Park is one of Kenmare’s best kept secrets and my favourite place to stroll around with or without the camera. Early mornings here are glorious with great light and birdsong which keeps me coming back here time and again.

St. Finian's bay is somewhere that I end up many times during the year. I rarely set out to go here, as in my head I'll never top the 'Skellig Moon' image I made here, but yet I find it hard to pass by. The beauty of this place is that its different almost every time you visit it. The light on the Skelligs varies so much and the sea conditions are so changeable , there's always something new to see and to photograph.
This time I was drawn by the large surf, but also by the intense greens and blues in the water as the waves rolled in. Another worthy addition to my growing collection of Skellig images.

Ironically an image taken within my 2km, but from a gorgeous morning last June. This stand of trees on the Dromquinna estate have been hit by the storms in recent years but are actually more photogenic than when I first photographed them, a long time ago !

Rock Street, Kenmare
I've been photographing this exact scene for a year and half.. finally one morning the white car was out of shot.. and I may have moved some bins !
( the red building on the left is where I had my first exhibition 22 years ago ! )

A beautifully still morning on Lough Leane, just before sunrise. Shortly afterwards, the sky behind me turned into an amazing show of fire and orange with a spectacular sunset. But ahead of me the muted sky only reflected a hint of that which is what I preferred to concentrate on and capture an altogether more quiet and still scene.
Just at the right time, the two little ducks who had been in the rushes, broke cover and with a slow exposure set on the camera, their movement was captured in a nice little blur.
